Our driver will pick you up directly at the lobby of your hotel at 8.00am, back to the hotel at 7.00pm, after a short panoramic tour of its northern part, we will leave Rome, driving by the "Sun Route" motorway, crossing the region Lazio and entering to the green Umbria. First stop will be Orvieto, fascinating town in Umbria, surronded by a landscape of fields and vineyards, rises on a plateau of volcanic stuff overlooking the river Tiber. Because of its location, because of its Etruscan roots, because of it s charming medieval character and above all because of its celebrated Cathedral wich is a gem of Gothic architecture, Orvieto is one of Italy's most unique and amazing cities. The itinerary will continue to Assisi, the Mystic city of St. Francis, the founder of the Franciscan order of friars and the church and crypt with his name draw a steady stream of pilgrims an sightseers every year. The Basilica of San Francesco know for its frescoes by Giotto and Cimabue, repaired after the big earthquake in 1997. It will be a pleasure for you to wander about, looking into the small artisan shops of the old city. Note: please dress respectfully for visiting religious monuments, local custom requires covering knees and shoulder, confortable shoes recommended. Duomo ticket is 3€ per person( not included in rate), resarvation no needed for this site
