Our driver will be waiting for you right in front of your ship, ready to take you directly to Orvieto and then the amazing Civita di Bagnoreggio. Every tour includes your pick up and return at Civitavecchia Dock or at Rome hotel, if you have bagagge from/to your hotel, airport and ship, you can add customized tours to tranfers. Our vehicle have a special pass to enter in Civitavecchia Dock, arriving in front of the pier of your ship. The tipical Shore Excursion start by pick up at 8.00am from the pier of your ship and coming back to the port at roughly 5.00pm ( or at Rome hotel). If you prefer, you can share the shore tour and the price with other tourists you will meet on board, in this case, tell us the exact number of people at least 48 hours in advance. Orvieto (roughly one hour and half far from Civitavecchia), fascinating town of Umbria, surrounded by a landscape of fields and vineyards, rises on a plateau of volcanic stuff overlooking the river Tiber, its architectureis untouched by new development and it still looks as it did some 500 years ago. The atmosphere in the town is unique and you may enjoy it over a glass of wine. Its Medieval Duomo is one of the most impressive examples of medieval architecture in Italy. Saint Patrick's Well,built in the early 16th century, is an architectural marvel, its double spiral staircases run along the sides of the well, 62 meters deep, without meeting. Then we will go to Civita di Bagnoreggio (Ghost city), a citadel in tufo stone where live very few people in winter. During summer few tourists visit it so the population rises to approximately one hundred, there are no shops and only one hotel, however, its unique atmosphere lures tourists who hate crowded places.Of course, we are entirely flexible, if there is a special place that you want to see, just let us know. It is not included lunch and entrance fees ( Orvieto Duomo 3€, Patrick's Well 3,5€, Civita di Bagnoreggio 5€, ), please dress respectufully for visiting religious monuments and museums, local custom requires covering knees and shoulder. Confortable walking shoes recommended.
